    Job overview

    We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual interested in developing skills within hospital Pharmacy services. You will gain experience in ward based working, the Pharmacy Dispensary and Pharmacy Stores whilst working towards a Level 2 QCF in Pharmacy Services. Upon completion of the qualification your pay band will increase to a band 3.

    Applications are welcome from applicants that already hold the Level 2 QCF qualification. If you already have the required qualifications and skills then you will start the role as a band 3.

    Previous Pharmacy experience would be an advantage, however full training will be provided to the successful candidate.

    You must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, be well organised, have the ability to work both independently and as part of a team, be able to adapt to changing demands and be committed to providing a high quality patient focused service.

    Main duties of the job

    The role of the successful candidate will include:

  • Dispensing inpatient and discharge prescriptions.
  • Maintaining, issuing and receiving pharmacy stock
  • Assessing patients own medication on admission.
  • Maintaining medication supplies for inpatients on allocated wards.
  • Ensuring efficient use of medicines by facilitating the safe transfer of supplied medication around the hospital.
  • Prioritising and facilitating discharges.
  • Rotate through our community response team to provide support
