    Introduction to the role:

    This role provides the opportunity to join one of the fastest growing business groups of Hill Dickinson – the Commercial Health and Life Sciences team. The team have been growing year-on-year with a team of over 70+ lawyers and national coverage. We are one of the leading law firms providing legal advice and support to the health and life sciences sectors.

    Our dedicated London team are now looking to recruit an ambitious Associate / Senior Associate to work on a wide range of regulatory and commercial matters.

    You will be given plenty of client responsibility and exposure (including travel) whilst being part of a supportive team environment.

    Introduction to the team:

    Experts in their field, clients include cutting edge biotech and healthtech businesses ranging from SMEs to multinationals, major private healthcare clinics and providers, leading NHS providers and commissioners, and researchers. The team works for clients operating in the following sectors:

  • Medtech and digital health
  • Private healthcare
  • Pharma and biotech
  • Reproductive and genetic technologies
  • Cell and gene therapy
  • Novel therapies, such as medical cannabis and psychedelics
  • Strategic NHS projects, including IT and digital.

    Key responsibilities:

  • Advising clients on interpreting regulatory and governance frameworks
  • Advising on commercial and contracting matters, including in the context of collaborations, joint ventures and transactions
  • Advising clients on public and administrative law
  • Advising in relation to regulatory proceedings and litigation, including judicial reviews
  • Supporting the team’s marketing and business development strategy in the relevant sectors, including by developing materials and promoting the team by attending and presenting at events, as well as presenting as the face of the firm to clients and intermediaries.
  • What we are looking for

    Essential:

    We are looking for a highly motivated and innovative Associate / Senior Associates who wants to work collaboratively to contribute to the further development and growth of the team in London and the wider Hill Dickinson team.

  • Law degree (or equivalent)
  • Solid experience in commercial and/or regulatory matters ideally within the health and/or life sciences sectors but other relevant experience will be considered;
  • Ability to work as part of a team;
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and work under pressure
  • Willingness to play a proactive part in business development activity
  • Positive attitude and interest in exploring and learning about new and unfamiliar legal areas;
  •  Ability to work flexibly and proactively;
  •  Excellent communication/client service skills;
  •  Excellent attention to detail;
  •  Excellent organisational skills.
  • Desirable

  • Experience in the Health and Life Sciences sectors.
