An opportunity to work as part of a large SEN service where children, young people and families are at the heart of it’s work and there is strong multi-disciplinary working with leaders who are highly ambitious about improving outcomes for children with SEND .

We are seeking an experienced professional to work within Hampshire County Council to join a newly formed management team and take on the role of Assistant SEN Service Manager (Operations) within the Children’s Services Department’s SEN Service.

This role will be responsible for leading the PfA team in the SEN service to ensure that all statutory duties are met, and that clear pathways are developed for young people moving into College, Supported Internships, Apprenticships or the world of work.

You will be joining an outstanding Children’s Service  which is committed and successful in meeting the needs of vulnerable children. You will have opportunities to work closely with a range of colleagues and be part of a creative and effective SEN management team.

Job Purpose:

To provide effective operational leadership to the SEN Service, ensuring that systems processes and resources are in place for the Service to deliver a high quality, efficient and timely service against clear performance measures.

You will line manage all SEN Locality Team Managers to ensure that there are appropriate accountability systems in place and teams meet key performance targets and that resources are manged affectively across the Service.

You will also line manage the Helpdesk and lead on the recruitment and induction processes for the SEN Service and the CPD plan to ensure professional standards are maintained.

Leading on systems to identify SEN provision requirements will be a key part of your role, as well as contributing to place identification and school reorginisation to meet sufficiency needs in liaison with the Inclusion Commissioning Manager.
