We are currently looking for a talented Assistant Project Manager with experience in leading small to middle scale projects (c1m to 30m) in the built environment sector. Candidates who show essential project management skills in a complex environment with an ability to provide innovative solutions to clients are required

We are looking for an Assistant Project Manager to join our specialist PM function within our Cities & Places Group. The team consists of professional project managers who act as specialist project management consultants to key clients in the buildings sector.

We are looking for someone who will support and manage the provision of technical consultancy services to major clients. As project manager you will also contribute to the solution of technical issues arising within projects.

The Assistant Project Manager working in this role will be responsible for:

  • Provide essential support to the Project Manager, managing all aspects of the successful delivery of projects in the Built Environment.
  • Assist the management/reporting requirements and the delivery of the project to the required standard, on time and within budget
  • The Assistant Project Manager will support either the Project Manager or Senior Project Manager in managing allocated work from assignment to close out covering all duties related to work delivery as requested by the Project Manager or Senior Project Manager in order to ensure that the work is conducted in a safe, timely and effective manner to its conclusion.
  • The Assistant Project Manager will be set to work and managed on a day to day basis by the Project Manager/Senior Project Manager.
  • To work with clients and contractors with a diverse range of objectives in the definition of a successful project.
  • To comply with all relevant Legislation, Policies and Procedures
  • To work with a diverse range of specialists and engineering professionals
  • Identifying, implementing and complying with applicable technical, safety, environmental and quality standards, company procedures and policies and other relevant legislative and regulatory requirements.
  • Support the Project Manager with day to day activities required to deliver work in line with the project plan including safety, quality, schedule and cost support and encourage the project team members to devise technical solutions that meet the requirements of clients
  • To promote, support and develop project teams to enhance project and business performance
  • Here’s What You’ll Need:

  • You will hold a project management qualification
  • Ideally be a member of the Association of Project Management or other recognised registration.
  • Effectively plan, monitor and control the work of self and others taking account of the priorities of projects
  • Plan, monitor and control the delivery of projects to clients
  • Communicate with others and clients
  • Report the commercial status of projects in accordance with company methods
  • Assist project delivery to the cost, the time and the quality objectives of the company and clients
  • Understand the factors affecting motivation of project team members and techniques for risk management
  • Competent in MSOffice, MS Project, Earned Value, reporting Tools
  • Experienced working on complex engineering and/or construction projects
