We care

That’s why we need people like you who care about your colleagues and customers as well as our business and the environment. People who appreciate their role in helping others to be successful.

We frequently work in partnership and we’re proud of our heritage with Anglian Water. We help them to supply safe drinking water to 4.3 million people.

Precious water resources are being squeezed by a growing population and lower rainfalls, so we’re helping them take steps to “save every drop, every day” and to help us all “love every drop every day”. We need you to help us to help them.

The Role

This is your opportunity to be part of our Leakage team and join colleagues listening for leaks. Once you’re trained, you’ll have everything you need in your van to keep you safe as you work outside in all weathers to locate, log and report any leaks using mobile technology.

You’ll be deploying leak detection sensors with safety and productivity in mind. Each day you get to:

• Drive to a specific location
• Follow a pre-determined walking route (around 7 km)
• Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE)
• Report your progress and what you find

It’s highly likely that from time-to-time passers-by will stop and ask what you are doing, that’s when we need your excellent customer focus and great communication skills to safely explain the activity.

We’d love to hear from you if you can demonstrate the following

It’s essential that you have a full and valid driver’s licence. Ideally you know already that you enjoy working independently and taking on practical tasks. Some experience of working with customers and explaining your role with confidence will enable you to deal with enquiries from interested pedestrians.

Some experience of working in a similar role or outdoor, safety critical environment will give you a good insight into what’s needed, although we’re quite flexible. Just get in touch to tell us what interests you about the role.
