We have a new exciting opportunity to work in our Graphic Design Team. This role with give you the opportunity to work for a market leading company, whilst gaining valuable skills and experience to ensure you develop to your full potential throughout the apprenticeship.
What the apprenticeship will offer:
Balfour Beatty offers a comprehensive training programme in Graphic Design with the opportunity of completing industry recognised vocational qualifications. You will provide effective, efficient, confidential and comprehensive administrative support to our business. As part of the Apprenticeship scheme you will be supported with gaining an Level 6 Apprenticeship in Creative Design Professional within 36 months.
In addition to supporting you through your formal apprentice qualification, you will follow the Balfour Beatty Enhanced Apprentice programme. This is a mix of development events and activities, plus in year 2 you will compete in the Balfour Beatty Brathay Apprentice Challenge, to help us find the Balfour Beatty Apprentice Team of the Year! The challenge is a mix of community engagement activities and a team building event in the Lake District. Find out more here… There is also the opportunity to complete the Duke of Edinburgh’s Gold Award as part of your apprenticeship.

Following successful completion of the apprenticeship, you will be able to develop your career further within Balfour Beatty.
Consistently apply the company’s visual identity in a way that portrays the value and reputation of our business and its joint ventures.
Communications : Group Communications team; Project Communication Managers and teams; Communications Community of Practice.
Internal : Senior leaders, line managers, bid leads and front line employees throughout Balfour Beatty.
External : External marketing suppliers and external stakeholders as required to develop, implement and evolve the company’s visual identity.
You will be responsible for delivering a range of Marketing Communications outputs to support the delivery of Strategic Business Unit and Group strategy as well as internal and external messaging. This includes but is not limited to, the duties described below:
· Understand the creative process and principles of good design;
· Liaising with colleagues to agree final design direction;
· Producing a range of print and online materials including tender documents and presentations, brochures, display stands, adverts etc.;
· Maintain compliance with corporate identity and company style, whilst driving improvements to the ‘look and feel’ of corporate materials;
· Ability to manage own workload;
· Understand and demonstrate the Balfour Beatty behaviours
· Full training and support will be provided throughout your apprenticeship by Balfour Beatty
Personal qualities and experiences:
You will be very proactive, adaptable, creative and collaborative, eager to develop your expertise and deliver high quality work
You will have an enthusiastic, engaged attitude and eagerness to learn and develop personally and professionally
· Minimum of 5 GCSEs or equivalent at grades A – C and 2 A-Levels grade A-C or equivalent
· Strong design skills
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with strong attention to detail.
· A keen interest in a career in design
· Focused on delivering results collaboratively, with quality and creativity
· Good stakeholder management skills, with experience of setting, measuring and delivering goals
· Team player with ability to work with individuals across multiple geographical locations.
· A self-starter with good organisation skills and the ability to manage conflicting deadlines.
Desirable skills include:
· Working knowledge of the core Adobe Creative Cloud apps
· Comfortable working in the Microsoft Office suite
