A key member of Yarls Wood Immigration Removal Centre (IRC) this role is crucial to ensuring secure, effective and efficient clerical/administrative support is provided across the Governance & Services function with a focus on training and detail. This role will also include elements of other parts of the group which includes finance, contract management and audits and compliance.
Working with a supportive and motivated team, you will undertake where required, collecting, logging, filing and distributing all departmental reports and files. You will maintain databases relating to management reports and as Administrator you will ensure a high level of security and confidentiality is maintained in relation to detainees.
You will act as minute taker at events, meetings or extraordinary meetings, type correspondence, reports and other documents. Respond to queries and provide clerical support to team members. You will assist where required with the completion of scheduled audits and maintain a knowledge of Safer Custody, Violence Reduction, Suicide and Self Harm and Security responsibilities in line with local/national policies and undertake any other administrative duties that are required.
What you need to do the job
With a keen eye for detail, you’ll have excellent communication skills, whilst working as part of a motivated team as well as on your own initiative. Excellent organisational skills mean that you’ll be able to prioritise and manage your own workload effectively enabling you to meet specific timescales. You will have excellent computer and typing skills inclusive of Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point and previous experience of minute taking
You will need an understanding of Data Protection/GPDR and have experience of working within an administrative environment. Having a strong customer focus are also key personal attributes needed to succeed within the role.
Lastly, because of the nature of our work you’ll need to be able to pass a full security and vetting clearance process.
