Academy Strategic Operations Manager

Location: Home based, UK location

To provide strategic and operational support to the Academy Director and to the broader Academy Leadership Team to ensure the successful delivery of key objectives. To support the execution of delivery of the development and performance management of our people across the Academy and be responsible for reporting and MI. Represent the Academy at a Field Operations level to provide appropriate alignment and interdependency with Establishment, Area & Corporate initiatives

What you’ll be doing:

Ensuring the effective delivery of all aspects of support to the Academy Director and Academy Leadership Team via: 

  • Acting as Operational & Strategic right hand to Academy Director.
  • Responsibility for delivering complex strategic operational projects.
  • Managing a Team of up to 10 people nationally.
  • Facilitating effective execution of Academy operating model.
  • Delivery of necessary reporting to support tactical decision-making.
  • Analysing MI to support strategic evolution and resource allocation across the Academy.
  • Development & oversight of progressive internal and stakeholder communications.
  • Ownership of key corporate function relationships (L&D, HR, Finance, Establishment, Areas).
  • Supporting Academy Director with matters relating to Structure, Budgets, Resource Planning and Managing of Performance.
  • Supporting the creation and presentation of Academy MI required by corporate stakeholders for reporting and remuneration purposes.
  • Supporting the effective development and implementation of our Managing Performance program.
  • Who we’re looking for:

  • A strong leader and influencer, used to managing a combination of changing priorities and BAU executions team.
  • Proven strategic operational background and evidence of project management.
  • Ability to lead and develop a Team of Operational Support specialists to perform to the best of their ability, managing resources and performance levels and ensuring employees are able to develop their own career.
  • Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills, able to manage upwards and challenge appropriately.
  • Experience of managing a complex and varied workload to deadlines, dealing with organizational structures, management systems, forecasting and budgets.
  • Strong data analysis skills, a strong eye for detail, the ability to distil and present findings in an appropriate manner for the audience.
  • A strong commercially minded individual with a focus on delivering results, understanding corporate objectives and Academy business strategy and culture.
