Are you a Health and Safety professional who is passionate about building effective relationships to enable excellent communication on-site? Have you got exposure to Highways or Rail health and safety in a construction environment? Then we could have the ideal role for you based out of Milton Keynes.

Do you live in, around, or can commute to Milton Keynes? Working on developing the infrastructure around Milton Keynes, particularly around highways, access and groundworks Laing O’Rourke requires a H&S Manager on site.

Are you passionate in advising and facilitating health and safety delivery within a project? Can you support the project in setting H&S maturity goals, inspire progress and report performance as required? If you answered yes, Laing O’Rourke has the role for you.

Duties and knowledge

  • Provide local advice and support necessary to assist managers and staff to fulfil their health and safety responsibilities to the high standards demanded by the Business.
  • Facilitate and coach operational teams on I+W and the respective engagement tools, which allow the team to engage effectively with the workforce.
  • Carry out relevant H&S assurance actions, providing trust to the business that operational effectiveness of all relevant processes is being delivered

What skills & experience are we looking for?

  • Qualification at level 5 (min) and member or a relevant professional body.
  • Technical knowledge in Occupational Health risk management and wellbeing, Environment risk management and Safety risk management.
  • Strong communication skills to confidently give constructive feedback when dealing with challenging operational situations in a professional manner to encourage open communications.
  • Consult widely and involves all necessary parties in problem solving and decision making.
  • Ability to review and analyse information quickly, be decisive and come to conclusions quickly.
  • Ability to plan in advance for success delivering work in a structured manner and ensuring deliverables are met in a timely manner
