Main duties of the job

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, motivated and driven individual to join the Emergency Quadrant Management Team in Ysbyty Glan Clwyd on a permanent basis. The post of Emergency Quadrant Rota Coordinator will offer an individual the chance to enhance their skills at management level through liaising with other managers, direct and in-direct line management of staff, identifying improvements to the department and presenting these ideas at management level. This job would be suitable for someone with excellent problem solving and communication skills. The post holder will be required to work to their own initiative whilst prioritising work streams.

Aptitude and Abilities

Essential criteria

  • Educated to degree level OR significant equivalent experience
  • Held high level Administration role for significant time
  • At least RSA 3 or equivalent with audio typing or equivalent experience
  • Ability to work on own initiative and as part of team
  • Experience of allocating staffing resources
  • Competent in use of modern IT packages, including Excel, Word and Outlook
  • Experience of developing staff rotas
  • Knowledge of Medical Workforce processes
  • Exccellent organisational skills
  • Ability to coordinate and alter complex work schedules
  • Ability to work to strict deadlines and to prioritise tasks
  • Analytical skills
  • Ability to communicate important information clearly and accurately, to all grades of medical personnel
  • Ability to work in a busy environment
  • Team worker
  • Willingness to learn new skills to meet the needs of the organisation
  • Ability to use own initiative, whilst understanding the need to seek advice from seniors where necessary
  • Desirable criteria

  • Relevant Management qualification e.g. ILM (Institute of Leadership and Management) level 4, NEBs
  • ECDL
  • Knowledge of New Deal for Junior doctors/European Working Time Directive
  • Previous experience of working with clinical staff
  • Knowledge of use of Myrddin/WPAS/Pims system
  • Management of staff
  • Knowledge of TARN
  • Previous experience of working in a hospital environment or with health care professionals
  • Ability to speak Welsh is desirable
  • Qualifications

    Essential criteria

  • At least RSA 3 or equivalent with audio typing or equivalent experience
  • To work in the UK, all candidates who are not UK or Republic of Ireland (RoI) nationals require sponsorship to obtain either a Health and Care visa or Skilled Worker visa , unless you have permission to work via another route.
