Salary – £38,000 – £41,600 per annum – depending on skills and experience

About the role

We are now recruiting for a Health and Safety Advisor to join our Governance Team on a full-time permanent basis.

You will be the main point of contact with staff and managers in your designated business area in relation to Health and Safety in the workplace and provide technical and specialist guidance, direction and support.

You will ensure that policies and procedures relevant to specific areas of Health and Safety responsibility are developed and maintained as part of the Health and Safety Management System, ensuring that legal requirements and good practice are observed and kept under review.

Within the role, you will also be required to carry out health and safety audits and inspections, which will require travel to various workplaces and provide written reports to the Head of Health and Safety and operational managers as required.

You will act as a primary health and safety contact for your designated business area, advising on subject matters including accident investigation, risk assessment, COSHH and DSE.

About you

It is essential that you have a NEBOSH General Certificate, NCRQ or equivalent with professional membership of a health and safety organisation. A NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent would be beneficial for this role.

You will have significant relevant experience of providing Health and Safety advice within designated business area and have a thorough knowledge and understanding of the Health and Safety at Work Act and other relevant legislation. Experience of working in the construction and/or housing sector would be beneficial for this role.

You must have the ability to interpret and apply legislation, codes of practice, guidance notes and procedures relating to health and safety at work and offer pragmatic advice and guidance to staff and managers.

You will be required to deliver high quality results in a timely manner. And have the ability to plan, organise and successfully execute multiple tasks simultaneously with timeliness & accuracy.
