Protocol are seeking a Trainer Assessor in Plumbing and Gas to work with a newly merged college group shaping and directing 16-19 adult education across the borough of Stockport. The position will consist of 27 working hours per week.

In order to be successful in this role you must have a relevant assessing qualification, verifier qualification and Level 2 numeracy and literacy. A teaching qualification would be desirable. You must have a recognised  Gas & Plumbing  industry qualification and occupational competency within the  Gas & Plumbing  sector. A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle is essential in this role.

  • Responsible for planning and delivering innovative programmes of learning, enabling learners to develop their knowledge and practical skills so that they can demonstrate their competence to industry standards
  • Conduct initial assessments and training needs analyses to identify the learning styles of learners and apprentices within an area of Occupational Competence
  • Support fellow assessors and conduct verifications
  • Be responsible for the delivery of qualifications and apprenticeships within a specific sector area to a caseload of learners and of also supporting fellow assessors and verification of work
  • To carry out regular learner reviews, in required format, to maintain ESFA compliance and to ensure that learners complete their learning programme on or before the planned funding end date.
  • Maintain regular contact with learners and employers within your area.
  • Use OneFile electronic portfolio with all candidates.
  • The person & qualifications

  • A relevant assessing qualification (A1, D32/D33, TAQA)
  • Verifier qualification (V1, D34)
  • Literacy and numeracy to a level 2 or a willingness to work towards
  • IQA experience
  • Proficient in delivering Functional Skills up to level 2
  • Experience of assessing and/or teaching in the area of work based learning
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the subject area
  • The ability to deliver detailed and timely feedback following assessment of learning
  • (Desirable) A teaching qualification (PTLLS, CTLLS, DTLLS, PGCE, CertEd)
