Main duties of the job

  • To have an up to date knowledge and understanding of the issues and responsibilities associated with the role of the Associate Director of Nursing, and a basic knowledge of current issues affecting the NHS, in order to assist in prioritising their workload/daily activities to ensure deadlines are met.
  • First point of contact for the Associate Director of Nursing by telephone, e-mail, and correspondence, or for their visitors or members of the public making contact with them. Providing advice on a wide range of matters related to the work of the Associate Director of Nursing and team, resolving problems or referring them to the most appropriate person as necessary.
  • Provide administrative secretarial support to the Associate Director of Nursing and team as required. This will include the scheduling and re-arranging of diaries.
  • Compilation of complex agendas, and the taking and transcribing of formal minutes.

  • RSA 3, NVQ 3 qualification or equivalent.
  • GCSE passes in English and Maths

  • Diploma in Office Administration or experience to diploma level

  • Sufficient experience at a high level of providing a comprehensive administrative/PA service

  • Previous experience of working as Administrator / PA to an Executive Director or equivalent Senior Manager
