We are looking for an experienced Nurse with excellent communication and organisational skills, with the ability to work autonomously and as part of a team of educators.

The primary role of the Nurse Education Facilitator will be to support overseas international nurses in gaining the Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE) which is the final step in joining the NMC register and working as a registered nurse here in BCU. The post holder in conjunction, with local Practice Development Nurses will also provide education support to help them settle into their new role.

Teaching OSCE clinical skills training for the International Nurse Recruits, is a key part of the role, therefore current clinical knowledge is essential as is the ability to supervise and assess others in line with NMC standards. OSCE Training will be provided for the successful candidate/s in one of the three National OSCE training centres. The role will require the ability to meet deadlines, work under pressure at times, problem solve and work efficiently with teams across the Health Board.

This post is fixed term for 12 months to meet the needs of the service.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Essential criteria

  • REGISTERED NURSE. Evidence of nursing related qualification to degree level
  • Teaching/assessing qualification to Postgraduate Diploma Level (Level 6) or equivalent
  • EXPERIENCE

  • IT literate and able to deduce key points from numerical data.
