Family Support Worker

Salary: £19,300 per annum

Location: Based in Kings Lynn West Norfolk. Occasional travel to Breckland District part of the wider locality may be required.

Contract/Hours: Permanent Full Time, 37 hours a week. 8.30am – 4.30pm Monday to Thursday and 8.30am – 4.00pm Friday.

A bit about the role

Norfolk’s Early Childhood and Family Service provide targeted support to families with children aged 0-5 years. The service offers a range of early childhood services for parents, prospective parents and young children to support in areas including bonding, speech and language development, parenting challenges, mental well-being and healthy relationships.

We have bases in King’s Lynn and Downham Market with the role covering the whole of Kings Lynn and West Norfolk.

How you’ll help to create brighter futures

You will be part of a supportive and dedicated team with opportunities for development. You will make a difference by:

  • Providing rich learning environments where children and their families can engage in stimulating play opportunities.
  • Facilitating interventions one to one or in a group to support identified areas of need e.g. infant massage, speech and language development.
  • Being alert to child protection and safeguarding issues and inform appropriate line managers.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual with a passion for helping to create brighter futures. You will find full job description attached job description details the requirements of the role but the ‘must-haves’ are:

  • Level 2 or above qualification in social care, health, education or early years.
  • Experience of delivering one to one or group support to children and families using the early years foundation stage (or similar).
  • Good IT skills and ability to record concise, accurate case notes.
  • Ability to build safe and effective working relationships with vulnerable young children and adults.
  • A driving licence and access to a car. This role requires the ability to travel according to the needs of the job, with reasonable adjustments, if required, according to the Equality Act.
