Main duties of the job

To provide an accurate and prompt administrative function to facilitate the delivery of an efficient and effective appointment booking service.

To be part of a cohesive and integrated admin function to the service. Provide first point of access administration for all referrals into the Childrens Booking Centre. Act as first point of contact for all enquiries and referrals into the service.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Essential criteria

  • GCSE standard in English and Maths
  • Evidence of continuous/ ongoing learning
  • Desirable criteria

  • Formal Secretarial Qualification
  • ECDL qualified
  • Experience

  • Previous experience in booking, secretarial or reception role
  • Waiting List experience
  • Desirable criteria

  • Previous NHS experience
  • SKILLS and KNOWLEDGE including those physical skills necessary for the post.

  • Excellent working knowledge of Patient Administration Systems
  • Able to use Word/Excel/ SharePoint/Email/Outlook
  • Able to manage paper/ electronic diaries effectively
  • Good clerical and prioritising skills
  • Good organisational skills

  • Knowledge of WPAS, Previous customer service contact
  • Experience in all office procedures within an NHS environment
  • Welsh speaker Level 3-5
