Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will be motivated to ensuring excellence in clinical care provided for adults presenting with a range of communication and swallowing problems as a result of a stroke. He/she will provide rehabilitation both in an inpatient setting, and as part of our new and exciting Early supported discharge team. The postholder will be an integral part of the MDT, under the leadership of our Stroke consultant therapist, and supported by a band 7 stroke specialist Speech and Language therapist.

He/she will demonstrate independent learning and be inquisitive and forward thinking. He/ she will be committed to working in a multi professional team and demonstrate highly developed communication and negotiation skills within this forum. He/she will be passionate about delivering person centred care, and in ensuring evidence based assessment and treatment is provided at all time.

Successful candidates will understand and be committed to providing stroke evidence-based practice. Stroke experience is therefore essential for all posts.
