Balfour Beatty Vinci has an exciting opportunity for an I&M Coordinator to join the HS2 projects Mainline team

Role Purpose:

To develop and implement monitoring plans, programmes, and procedures for installation, protection, operation and removal of the instrumentation and monitoring systems required to construct and operate HS2.

What you’ll be doing

  • Provide expertise in design, installation, commissioning, operation and removal of geotechnical and structural instrumentation and monitoring
  • Ensure baseline data readings are taken prior to construction, and in accordance with third party requirements as necessary
  • Acting as BBV I&M subject expert in meetings with internal and external stakeholders
  • Ensuring all data is correctly entered into the I&M databases
  • Evaluate monitoring data from the operational I&M Systems; be in charge of the relevant Designers/I&M Subcontractors to identify and assess trends and anomalies; produce and present engineering assessments to BBV, HS2 and third parties
  • Assist development of action plans for trigger breaches and implement actions where required
  • Assist the I&M Manager with management of the I&M Subcontractors
  • Management of the Clients and Third parties requirements, including related to interface and access
  • Who we’re looking for

  • You must have relevant previous experience; of management, installation, implementation, operation, maintenance and removal of geotechnical and structural instrument and monitoring systems on major construction projects of similar nature
  • Experience and ability of data assessment/analytics from civil engineering Instrumentation and Monitoring systems
  • Experience of managing relationships with different project stakeholders at all levels and members of the public
  • Excellent communication skills at all levels and with a variety of internal and external stakeholders
  • Expertise in settlement/structural monitoring solutions for construction of tunnels, earthworks, retaining structures and the like, and monitoring for asset protection of third parties affected by ground movement.
  • Expertise in monitoring solutions for structural health; including bridges, tunnels, earthworks.
  • Experience of monitoring related to Network Rail and their procedures
