An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced, motivated and well organised administrator to join our friendly Speech and Language Therapy team. The post holder will have excellent administration, organisation and communication skills. Knowledge of excel and health record keeping would be beneficial.

The successful applicant will be the team lead for the admin team and provide administrative support to the Clinical Services Manager (CSM).

Within this role you will be the lead for a small admin team and will work closely with the Speech and Language therapists supporting them in their roles.

Main duties of the job

Working as a member of the team, the role includes overseeing the administrative processes across the team to ensure efficient running of the office, completing timely admin staff supervision and appraisals as well as maintaining staff sickness/absence records. You will be required to accurately input patient data onto a patient administration system (SystmOne) and work with and support the admin team.

Further more you will work closely with the CSM providing support with administrative tasks, data collection, diary management and personnel tasks. You will act as the main point of contact for the SLT service in the Worthing Locality, managing sensitive and complex information sensitively and efficiently and escalating to the CSM as appropriate. An ability to use initiative, act independently and adhere to timescales will be required.

The successful applicant must be competent in using Windows/Word/Excel and have good typing skills.

Qualifications and/or professional registration
Essential criteria

  • Educated to NVQ 3 level in a relevant subject or equivalent level of qualification or significant equivalent previous proven experience.
  • RSA 3 typing or equivalent
  • Desirable criteria

  • ECDL (or in training)

  • Significant administrative/ secretarial experience including initiating and maintaining office systems.
