About the role
The successful candidate will lead a team within the Carlisle area carrying out all surveys design specification and works supervision focussing on the improvement and maintenance of highways projects. You will work closely with the team and other depots around Cumbria assisting with planning and organising the team’s work/projects ensuring delivery and completion of projects within agreed timescales and budgets.
The right candidate will be a confident communicator who can provide technical advice and guidance to colleagues about specifications and standards for highway design and maintenance. It will require close liaising with the public relevant stakeholders and colleagues to deliver cost effective solutions to the maintenance of local roads.

The ideal candidate will be organised and enthusiastic with excellent communication skills and experience of managing complex projects and contracts. You will be a team player and bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to the team. You will also need to be confident when liaising with a wide range of stakeholders and key partners.
