Supports technology operations. Capita Technology & Software Solutions are looking for a Windows Shift Engineer to join their growing team. This is a great opportunity to work within a large onshore & offshore team.

You’ll be working on a rota which will include days & nights with plenty of rest in-between as well as shift allowance included.

Mainly, you’ll be the point of contact when it comes to windows issues, as well as dealing with Cloud (Azure) and Virtualization (VMWare). Required for 24x7x365 Support of Onshore Managed IT infrastructure – This is a shift-based role.

What you will be doing:

Required for 24x7x365 Support of Onshore Managed IT infrastructure – This is a shift based role

  • Providing L1 systems support for servers running Windows 2008/2012/2016/2019
  • Carrying out regular Operation system changes
  • Experience in working on server management tools for activities like patching, event monitoring, backup etc.
  • Providing 1st line support for applications (web portals, IIS)
  • Reacting to client logged incidents and requests through Remedy
  • Experience with Windows in a 1st and 2nd line role support capacity
  • Experience with VMWare
  • Experience with 24×7 support
  • Ideally, experience with Azure and Unix
  • Create Templates / Clones, create / delete Snapshots
  • Monitoring of Datacenter which includes timely check and reviews, Alerts, system logs, Disk space etc. and troubleshoot issues
  • 3rd party vendor coordination for visit and troubleshooting
  • Assist team with daily Backup failures, System Recovery with Backups
  • Review Application logs
  • Exchange 2003/2010/2013/Office365 Management and troubleshooting, Knowledge on Archival Solutions
  • What we’re looking for:

  • Ideally, experience with Azure and Unix
  • Solid background in IT support
  • Eligibility for Security Clearance
