Job Description

  • Support managers in dealing with employee relations casework
  • Guide, advise and coach line managers regarding HR policies and procedures, and their application
  • Identify and develop training opportunities for line managers on people matters
  • Support and take part in formal meetings
  • Provide regular HR reports and insights from your activities and the HR system MyHR
  • Provide guidance to managers regarding absence management and co-ordinate Occupational Health Referrals, the implementation of phased returns, access to work claims and reasonable adjustments
  • Pro-actively monitor sickness absence and absence triggers, and support managers with the breadth of absence related issues including the management of long-term absences
  • Ensure the probation procedure is followed in a timely manner, providing advice to Managers
  • Work with the HR Shared Services Team to progress and resolve employee queries, providing support for more complex matters such as shared parental leave, flexible working request
  • Support and co-ordinate the exit interview process identifying trends and proactively identifying any issues identified
  • Support the HR Shared Services team in all employee lifecycle processes
  • Support wider HR Generalist HR activities such as workforce planning, recruitment, and talent management

    Essential:

  • Working within a HR function in a similar role
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships at all levels and influencing managers to follow your advice
  • Working within a customer focussed environment
  • Experience working in a proactive and solutions driven working environment
  • Knowledge of HR Systems, HR System administration knowledge would also be an advantage
  • Knowledge of all employee lifecycle processes and the application of HR policies and procedures
  • Good up-to-date employment law knowledge
  • Good interpersonal and both written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent IT skills including Microsoft Office packages and HR systems
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to prioritise a broad range of tasks effectively
  • Have effective problem solving with strong attention to detail
  • A flexible approach to work with ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative
  • Proven experience of working effectively under pressure
  • Handling confidential and sensitive data
  • Analysing data
  • Desirable:

  • CIPD Level 5 qualification or demonstrable similar experience and evidence of strong commitment to continuing professional development
