Key responsibilities of a Support Worker:

  • Encourage and support clients to define and develop their chosen lifestyle and ensure they are involved in the planning of the service they want and provide them with the agreed necessary support to maximise their independence
  • Enable clients to develop a positive self- image and maintain good health and support the planning or organizing of daily, weekly, monthly activities and structure and routines
  • To support and assist in personal care tasks, including washing, bathing, toileting, dental care and or dressing when required
  • Monitor, support, or administer medication as required
  • To support and assist in household tasks including general cleaning, laundry, shopping, and cooking and assist the client in their household management to include finances and personal budgets
  • Encourage and support maintenance of new and existing friendships and relationships
  • Build good working relationships with neighbours, office, community organizations, and other relevant professionals
  • To make accurate records of the support and care given and keep and maintain written records as required, including the daily logs, financial transactions, medication administration records, and other records
  • To adhere to all relevant legislation as laid down by the Care Quality Commission, and detailed in policies and procedures
  • Be aware of and follow health and safety policies which minimize risk to you and the client
  • To attend supervision and appraisal meetings within the Accolade Support and Care office and when required attend team meetings

Additional Information:

  • We are a domiciliary care provider working in Cheltenham, Prestbury & Bishops Cleeve area.
  • Shift Pattern includes Mornings 7am – 3pm, Evenings 4pm – 10pm.
  • Every other weekend shift contribution is required.
