Background to the job: To work in client’s family home supporting a lady with complex needs.   The location is quite rural so transport is essential.  The lady does not have a learning disability but because of a brain injury she struggles with change and the unexpected.  Patience, reliability and a sense of humour are essential.  An understanding and tolerance of challenging behaviour together with an ambition to improve the quality of life for a lady with a great sense of humour and quick wit.      

 

Hours. Time of work:  Shifts are 7 days a week covering 8.00am to 6.00pm.  These shifts can be broken into an 8.00am to 1.00pm and 1.00pm to 6.00pm shift if needed.

 

Rates of pay and other benefits: £15.00 per hour. 5.6 weeks holiday per year.

 

 

Main Duties and Responsibilities:   To help support a 46 year old lady with very complex needs to have a fulfilling and interesting life.  Working on a 2:1 staffing ratio and provide support throughout the day.  Helping to provide a healthy lifestyle with movement and variety in the day.  Trips out in her wheelchair accessible vehicle with rides in her wheelchair either locally or by the coast.

 

 

Essential Requirements:  Sense of humour, tolerant,  patient  and caring.

 

 

Desirable Requirements:

  • Able to work increased hours at times throughout the year to cover staff on holiday or off sick
  • Previous care or personal assistance experience
