Civil Site Engineer

The Role
We are currently recruiting for a Civils’ Site Engineer to work across 3 OCGT projects based in Norwich, South Glamorgan and Milton Keynes for the Civils Main Contractor. The Civils’ Site Engineer will act as the Main Technical Advisor across all 3 projects for the Civils’ Contractor.

Roles Responsibilities:

  • Check plans, drawings and quantities for accuracy of calculations
  • Ensure that all materials used and all activities performed are in accordance with the specifications
  • Manage, monitor and interpret the contract design documents supplied by the client
  • Assess potential risks, materials and costs
  • Liaise with any consultants, subcontractors, supervisors, planners, quantity surveyors and the general workforce involved in the project
  • Liaise with the local authority (if necessary) to ensure compliance with local construction regulations
  • Carry out day-to-day management of the site, including supervising and monitoring the site labour force and the work of any subcontractors
  • Plan and organize the work efficiently in order to meet agreed deadlines
  • Oversee quality control and health and safety matters on site
  • Monitor progress and compile reports in project status
  • Resolve any unexpected technical difficulties and other problems that may arise.
  • Qualifications and certificates:

  • Civil Engineering degree is essential.
  • SSSTS or SMSTS (Desirable)
  • CSCS Card.
  • Over 5 years’ experience working across multiple power projects.
