About the role

Balfour Beatty Vinci has an exciting opportunity for Site Engineers to join our team to work across the Sublot 1 site at Bromford as part of the SCL & Shaft team on our tunnels .

Role Purpose:
To undertake Site Engineering control and implementation of works on site, including monitoring, reporting and focusing on SCL and Concrete activities

What you’ll be doing

Key Accountabilities

  • Working on the Spray Concrete Lining (SCL) and Reinforced Concrete (RC)
  • Ensure all permits are applied for and in place, ready for site work to begin
  • Shaft Excavations
  • Ensure the Inspection and Test Plans, and Quality Check Sheets are completed as soon as the checks can be completed.
  • Setting out and surveying
  • Able to produce detailed documentation for handover of completed works
  • Able to take off and schedule material quantities accurately
  • Knowledge of specification and contract documents
  • Develop and Approve relevant procedures specific to the area of works
  • Approve method statements and risk assessments and ensure they are being followed throughout the works
  • Reads and understands drawings and schedules
  • Ensure Design Drawings are marked up to reflect works completed as the works are finished
  • Regularly review procedures to ensure they are as efficient as possible
  • Setting out techniques ability to use level & EDM, plus GPS
  • Who we’re looking for

    The following qualities/experience are essential:

  • Qualified to degree level in civil engineering or equivalent
  • Holds a current CSCS Card
  • Holds a valid UK driving licence
  • Experience working on similar projects as a Site Engineer on tunnels, SCL or Shafts
