About the role

Balfour Beatty Vinci has an exciting opportunity for a TBM Section Engineer to join our team to work in Long Itchington Wood.

Role Purpose:

To Control of a section of the works in-line with the operational aspects of Tunnel Boring Machines (TBMs). Management of a team of Site Engineers within same discipline.

What you’ll be doing

As a TBM Section Engineer you will have responsibility for:

  • Management of site activities including maintaining production of 2 Slurry TBM’s in varied ground conditions, documentation (RAMS), quality control (ITPs) and records
  • Leading the delivery of tunnel/TBM and other related works in accordance with the project programme
  • The production of short term activity programmes and ensuring all engineers are aware of upcoming works
  • Control of the works according to each discipline including design implementation and completion of quality control systems
  • Currently working Monday – Friday and moving to 7/3/7/4 shift pattern when TBM’s are operational

    Who we’re looking for

    You will have:

  • TBM tunnelling experience on large scale projects
  • Experience of leading site and shift engineer teams as well as coordination with labour supervisors
  • Good survey skills and knowledge
  • Knowledge and practical use of NEC form of contract
  • Experience in liaising with Project Management team on large scale Tunnelling projects
  • Civil Engineering Degree or similar suitable qualification
  • CSCS card
  • Tunnel Safety Card
  • Ability and desire to work as part of a team on tunnelling projects which operate 24/7
