Middlesex University Library & Student Support (LSS) department provides a wide range of support services to students including Library & IT Support, Student Information & Advice, Student Achievement, Wellbeing Services, Learner Development and the Museum of Domestic Architecture. We are now recruiting SpLD Tutors within the Student Life Plus Department of the Wellbeing Services team. Wellbeing Services combines a number of services to deliver holistic support for students, including:

  • Disability and Dyslexia Service
  • North London Regional Access Centre
  • Counselling and Mental Health
  • Student Wellbeing
  • The Specific Learning Difficulties Tutors will work as part of a multidisciplinary team, providing specialist study skills tuition to individuals with Specific Learning Difficulties (SpLD) and those on the autistic spectrum (ASC)if appropriate. This support aims to equip students with independent learning strategies to help them succeed at university and beyond.

    The post-holder will work with students individually to identify learning needs and strengths and use these to facilitate independent learning, set clear standards and expectations for the sessions delivered and ensure that the nature of the help provided is in line with agreed support.

    The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate: relevant experience of supporting students with SpLDs, as well as a high standard of IT literacy. It is essential that candidates meet the .
