As the company project portfolio continues to grow rapidly, CatSci requires an additional Principal Synthetic Organic Chemist. to join a dynamic in their Cardiff facility.

Your Impact as Principal Synthetic Organic Chemist

  • Carrying out multi-step synthesis, isolation, purification, and characterization of small organic compounds
  • Designing efficient routes to target molecules of a wide range of complexity by applying modern synthetic methods
  • Designing, leading and delivering chemistry programmes to cost, quality and time demands
  • Writing and presenting proposals for potential clients, liaising with clients at technical meetings, compiling reports to convey results and offer conclusions
  • Bringing scientific excellence to the research and development of new processes for our clients
  • Practical project delivery in the laboratory as project and portfolio demands require
  • Mentoring and coaching junior members of staff

Requirements for Principal Synthetic Organic Chemist

  • A PhD in chemistry with an extensive experience in the industry
  • Detailed understanding of organic synthesis, scale-up and process chemistry
  • Expertise in the use of practical synthetic chemistry techniques
  • Excellent task management and communication skills
  • Proficiency in the use of appropriate information technology
  • Self-motivated and results-oriented with a clear focus on delivery of demanding project objectives
