An opportunity has arisen in the busy Health Records Library at Macclesfield District General Hospital to appoint to the physically demanding and varied position of Health Records Library Assistant.

The Health Records Library Team support the organisation with the provision of an efficient administration service which ensures the availability of patient records for clinical and research purposes.

The applicant must be hard working, flexible and be able to cope under competing pressure and demand. Experience with working in a team environment and excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential. A good understanding of confidentiality and knowledge of the Data Protection Act 2018 is also essential.

Hours

Main duties of the job

– Responsibility for the creation, pulling and re-filing of patient records utilising case note tracking on the Trusts PAS system to coordinate accurate distribution across the organisation.

– Responsibility for the maintenance and recovering of patient records.

– Supporting the culling and retention program which involves identifying inactive records, assigning destruction dates in relation to national retention guidelines and arranging delivery to an off-site storage facility.

– The post holder will be expected to work on a rota system and provide cover for colleagues during periods of sickness and absence
