Position – Finance Technician

We have a new exciting opportunity to join our Television Licencing Client Finance Team as a Finance Technician.

As a Finance Technician you will support the delivery of operational finance activity, including technical/financial administration support and contribute to the delivery of projects and client or internal driven change from a finance perspective.

The ideal candidate will have experience of finance administration, operational processes and will demonstrate a good working knowledge of MS Excel and other MS Office applications.

what you’ll be doing:

  • Resolve queries and provide technical support and advice to internal customers
  • Plan and prioritise own workload to achieve contractual targets
  • Create, update and review Finance procedures for appropriateness
  • Provide support for all internal and external financial and system auditing requirements, maintaining appropriate records as required
  • Contribute to finance project deliverables.
  • Support the design, proposal and implementation of solutions.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to improve service levels and operating efficiency and reduce risk
  • Adhere to all business standards, taking personal responsibility for adherence to organisational policies and procedures.
  • About You:

    Qualifications/Experience

  • A level (A-C) in numerical subject (or equivalent/qualified by experience) is desirable
  • Progress towards relevant accounting qualifications is desirable AAT, CIMA, ACCA) or qualified by relevant experience
  • Skills / Knowledge

  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely in a format and approach appropriate to the receiving stakeholders.
  • Strong numeracy, data entry and analytical skills with the ability to work under pressure and to strict deadlines.
  • Good working knowledge of MS Excel and other MS Office applications.
  • Able to show initiative, organised, work autonomously and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of relevant finance processes, regulation and legislation is desirable
