The Role

Due to expansion, we are looking for an additional Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our friendly team at Patchway Veterinary Centre, part of Zetland Veterinary Group in Bristol. The role will primarily be a consulting role and you would be working alongside a Veterinary Surgeon and Receptionist.

The shift pattern will include working 16 hours per week ideally over 2 days from 8:30am-6:30pm however we can be flexible. Though we would prefer the candidate to work Mondays and Thursdays, when our existing Registered Veterinary Nurse is not working, for the right candidate we may be able to offer a variety of shifts. Being a large group of 65 employees means that there is often maternity cover/shifts available at our other sites if the applicant required more hours. There are no out of hours with this role.

The salary will be from £24,000-£26,000 pro-rata depending on experience.

About Us

Patchway Veterinary Centre is a thriving little clinic in Patchway, Bristol, close to Cribbs Causeway and the M5 junction 16. We have the support of a large veterinary hospital located 5 miles away. The practice currently has an in-house lab, microscope, ultrasound, and surgical theatre. Our consult rooms are large are bright and our clients are genuinely very loyal and appreciative

We are a close-knit team and we have a lot of fun along the way. Our ethos is all about ensuring our staff feels valued and respected whilst working together to provide exceptional client and patient care. Our team consists of 1 Veterinary Surgeon, 1 Registered Veterinary Nurse and 2 Receptionists.

We also have other Vets from the group that joins us for various shifts in the week. At our hospital we have a further 9 Registered Veterinary Nurses and 4 Student Veterinary Nurses, many of whom have further qualifications. Our hospital Vets have certificates in small animal medicine, surgery, imaging, and feline practice.

Patchway prides itself on being part of the local community and we have an incredibly loyal client base. Due to consistent growth and the fact that our clients travel from as far away as Port Talbot, our appointments are mostly filled quite far in advance.

We have over 70% of our clients in our health club and we would like to find someone to share our PHC 6 monthly health checks, in addition to second vaccinations, regular injections, and all the other nurse clinics. This will enable our patients to receive a really high quality of care and so our Vet will be able to see more emergency appointments without the need to divert them to our other practices. This will enable us to continue to maintain our high level of client satisfaction. We can offer support and training if needed to really gain confidence and thrive in this role, which is a really important role to the overall well-being of our patients.

Applicant Requirements

We are looking for a qualified Registered Veterinary Nurse with a minimum of 1 year of clinical experience who is keen to enhance the preventative aspect of our veterinary practice. We want someone who will join our close-knit team where we will fully support you to be able to thrive in this role and hope you will also form close bonds with our clients and their pets.
