The Role
We are currently recruiting for a Land Buyer/Sourcer to join a growing Planning and Development company within the Renewable Energy sector who are based in St Helens. They plan and develop multiple renewable energy projects across the UK including Solar, Battery Storage (STOR), and Gas Peaking Plants. As land buyer you will be responsible for sourcing land that is suitable for construction . As a land buyer, you’ll identify suitable sites for building projects, determine whether planning permission is required and establish whether there will be any constraints on what can be built i.e., acoustics etc.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Assisting the Land team with producing and presenting land offers and negotiating best possible terms;
  • Actively managing communications and operational interfaces with internal and external stakeholders;
  • Assisting the Land team in the successful acquisition of land within the regional boundaries;
  • Undertake site due diligence and ensure it complies with the defined company criteria;
  • Maintain strong relationships with property agents, landowners, local authorities and other relevant parties;
  • You will be actively involved in all aspects of the regions planning and land identification activities as well as planning applications
  • Identify, appraise and negotiate on new land acquisitions and potential leads;
  • Prepare land acquisition proposals and make recommendations to the relevant board;
  • You will be responsible for pipeline development projects up to contract stage;
  • Skills and qualifications:

  • A strong network of contacts in the land agency world (Desirable but not essential)
  • A minimum of of 3 years consecutive experience required;
  • Degree qualified and ideal property related (Desirable but not essential)
  • Ability to work autonomously and independently from the rest of the team;
  • Determined, hungry and ambitious.
