Youth Crime Prevention Officer

Salary: £28226 – £29174

The advertised salary includes a supplement (JWC) to the base grade of the post. JWC supplements are conditional on the physical demands and /or working conditions of the role.

Hours: 37 hours per week

Workbase: Based at Carlisle East Community Fire Station

Contract: Permanent

Are you experienced in working with young people who display challenging behaviour and may have aditional complex issues?

We have an exciting opportunity to join an established team working to improve outcomes for children and young people in the Carlisle and Eden area. You will work within the multi-agency Youth Offending Service to deliver effective youth justice services to children young people and their families.

The role involves delivering interventions to young people on the cusp of offending and those who commit offenses for the first time or have re-offended.

You will be required to carry out detailed assessments and work with young people to develop plans prepare and maintain accurate written records.

The right candidate will have experience of working with and engaging hard to reach young people and their families. You will be able to take a strength based approach to empower people to make changes while demonstrating persistence to overcome any problems.

This role requires an enhanced DBS check with a Childrens Barred List check. Please note this role involves working in regulated activity with Children.
