About the role

Balfour Beatty VINCI has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Project Manager to support the delivery of one of the UKs high-profile and prestigious infrastructure projects. You will be working on various HS2 sections in Birmingham where you will be managing a range of high value structures packages.

Role Purpose:

To provide strategic operational management, strong leadership and control of a multi-disciplinary team.

What you’ll be doing

  • Responsible for the project management of a large multi-disciplinary construction Joint Venture team, located across multiple sites throughout the UK.
  • Experience in the management of a wide range of construction operations, including phasing and contingency planning, together with testing and handover.
  • Delivery of permanent works for Sublot 7 within budget and programme constraints.
  • Sets and manages targets and KPIs in line with Project / Business objectives and monitors performance, steering towards success
  • Carries out periodic Safety and Environmental Tours as required by the Project Construction Phase Plan
  • Leads / Reviews Accident / Incident Investigations. Reviews and appraises findings and leads / directs the appropriate action arising (HFACS and Four Page Reports). Implements culture for change when required
  • Ensures production of operational target programmes to reflect overall construction programme
  • Manages the procurement of subcontractors and advises on commercial aspects / preferred attendances and operational risks to the scheme and mitigation options
  • Who we’re looking for

  • Qualified Project Manager or similar equivalent, with multi-disciplinary breadth and understanding of a construction or civils environment
  • Previous experience of delivering high value major infrastructure projects
  • Strong understanding of piling and ground improvement works
