Salary : £23-25,000 starting salary, or £25,000-£30,000 depending on experience

Hybrid 3 days in the office in Farringdon, 2 from home

Duties:

In this role you will be attending the daily pitch meetings to discuss what you would like to write about, reviewing press releases, attending events and networking- and of course producing high quality journalism for a variety of areas and themes.

  • Consistently produce high-quality editorial copy for Portfolio Adviser, as directed by the editor and other senior members of the team
  • Establish and develop information sources among the brand’s audience as well as industry contacts and trade bodies
  • Generate regular off-diary and exclusive copy for our online audience
  • Identify and progress ideas and leads as the basis for material in written, audio and video form, and work with more senior editorial staff to bring those ideas to fruition
  • Collaborate with other team members to ensure news and related material (for example, news reports and subsequent news analysis articles) are created in a timely manner without duplication of effort in information gathering, interviews, press conference attendance and so on
  • Develop and maintain a good working knowledge of the information needs of the UK investment sector, ensuring your own output meets those needs.
  • Maintain familiarity with style guidelines and apply those guidelines when writing and proof-reading copy.
  • Use best efforts to meet agreed deadlines, which may occasionally require working outside of normal office hours.
  • Represent Portfolio Adviser in the market and attend key events, both within and outside normal office hours
  • After the appropriate training, chair events and present commercial webinars and round tables
  • Contribute to the overall effectiveness of the team by sharing information and ideas
  • Collaborate with other teams elsewhere in to meet shared goals
