Introduction

We are recruiting for Mechanical Fitters for Power Station outages across the UK. A majority of this work will be on Biomass and Energy from Waste plants.

The main outage is due to start in October, in East London and as such we are looking to identify candidates to introduce to the company to secure a team of Fitters ahead of time.

Roles & Responsibilities
As a Mechanical Fitter, you will be responsible for:

  • Understand and be capable of delivering the high levels of quality workmanship to tight timescales expected of our clients and their customers.
  • Undertaking maintenance and associated tasks related to Mechanical equipment, to a high standard, working alone or as part of a team.
  • Taking responsibility for accurate fault diagnosis and implementation of work with consideration of cost, reliability and availability.
  • Working in a flexible manner within levels of competency to contribute to the delivery of work programmes alongside other disciplines and work teams on site.
  • Adhering to the Client safety rules and procedures and perform roles within the rules following training and accreditation.
  • Be able to respond positively when unforeseen circumstances occur.

    • Skills & Qualifications
    We are looking for someone with the following:

  • CCNSG card
  • Mechanical Apprenticeship / City & Guilds / NVQ 3
  • Experience working on Mechanical Plant typically found in a Power Station; boilers, compressors, valves, pipework, rotating plant etc.
  • Flexible approach and adaptable to changing conditions
  • Strong team player with the ability to work independently and on own initiative
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
  • Positive attitude to safety
  • Tolerant of diverse working situations and conditions
