Main duties of the job

To perform advanced clinical and scientific activities across a range of rehabilitative functions provided by the Posture & Mobility service. The primary responsibility will be to deliver a comprehensive and integrated Custom Made Seating service across the service area. Non-clinical responsibilities include participation in clinical research, service development projects, clinical audit, directing allocated staff and collaborating with other professionals/agencies. Within the role there is a responsibility to maintain personal professional development and give 
presentations to colleagues as part of CPD and formal training programmes of clinical staff within the department.

Qualifications

Essential criteria

  • Recognised MSc qualification in Clinical Science (Clinical Engineering), to include those currently studying on an NSHCS recognised scheme, or equivalent.
  • Post-MSc professional (specialist) training qualification or equivalent (e.g. relevant IPEM / NSHCS training)
  • Registered, or eligible to be registered with HCPC (on completion of scheme)
  • Desirable criteria

  • Oxford Postural Management course certificate.
  • Post-MSc professional (specialist) training qualification or equivalent in Clinical Science
  • Experience

    Essential criteria

  • Advanced experience of rehabilitative equipment provision including assessment and management.
  • Advanced experience in postural assessment and management.
  • Desirable criteria

  • Experience in clinical research.
  • Experience in managing cases of difficult service users
  • Knowledge

    Essential criteria

  • Advanced knowledge of rehabilitative posture & mobility provision including assessment and management.
  • Knowledge of equipment used for interventions including assistive technologies and postural management equipment.
  • Desirable criteria

  • Knowledge of service development.
  • Knowledge of Rehabilitation Medicine applied in a Postural Management setting
  • To work in the UK, all candidates who are not UK or Republic of Ireland (RoI) nationals require sponsorship to obtain either a Health and Care visa or Skilled Worker visa , unless you have permission to work via another route.
