The Role

If you are a qualified registered veterinary nurse who is seeking variety in your career then we have the perfect opportunity for you. Supporting the theatre team by delivering and monitoring prescribed anaesthesia/sedation for referral patients from the surgical, neurology, ophthalmology and medicine disciplines, you will be an integral team member. We use multi-parameter monitors to monitor our patients under anaesthesia, reporting any problems to the specialist anaesthetists. Other than anaesthesia we also take on a circulating theatre nurse role. This involves preparing each theatre for surgery with the correct equipment, preparing the patient and personnel for theatre, maintaining sterility during surgery and assisting with theatre equipment. All our theatre nurses are highly skilled due to the in-depth training available. We would be looking for the successful applicant to start with us as soon as possible.

The working hours for this role are varied and could be between 7.30am and 7pm (with one late working from 9.30am to 7pm). We offer our full-time RVNs a 4 day working week (38hrs) in the interest of providing a healthy work-life balance for our team. We will also consider part-time applications. You will be required to take part in the weekend rota working a 1 in 6 full weekends from 7.45am to 6pm, 2 lieu days would be given the following week in exchange for the weekend work. We have a bank holiday rota in place which means our nursing team are required to work 1 or 2 bank holidays a year. There would also be a requirement to take part in an on-call rota, further information on this would be discussed at interview. We are happy to consider full time and part time hours.
