The Role

Companion Vets, Newark have an exciting opportunity for a Registered Veterinary Nurse to join their team temporarily, to cover maternity leave. You will have several responsibilities in this role including;

  • Running nurse clinics
  • Assisting vet during consults 
  • Assisting in theatre 
  • General nursing of in patients
  • Occasional admin and reception work
  • We care about our staff having a work/life balance and offer a varied shift pattern working 40 hours per week over 5 days, with a share in the Saturday morning rota. There is no out of hours requirement. 

    The salary for this role is up to £27,000 depending on experience.

    About Us

    We are a long-established, Small Animal practice in a semi-rural setting very close to the historic market town of Newark. We are lucky to live in a very picturesque, historic market town but within proximity to many cities such as Nottingham and Lincoln. The town is surrounded by lots of beautiful countryside to enjoy outdoor activities in your spare time and many heritage attractions for sightseeing and a busy centre for the shoppers among us. The cost of living in Newark is relatively low with affordable housing and we have great commuter link roads near such as the A1. The East Midlands airport is also only a 45-minute drive away.

    We have built up a large, loyal client base over the past 30 years and we focus on giving the highest patient and client care possible. You will be joining an experienced team with post-graduate qualifications in our well-equipped practice. The equipment includes a digital x-ray machine, ultrasound machine, and Idexx lab facilities. We currently have 1 Vet, 1 Nurse, and 5 Support Staff. We are very supportive and have a great working environment as a team. We enjoy the times we can get together for social events when possible!

    Applicant Requirements 

    We are looking for a Registered Veterinary Nurse, who has experience working in a small animal practice. Our ideal candidates demonstrate excellent communication skills, a passion for providing high standards of care, and are customer service oriented. We are looking for an RVN who works well within a team but can also work independently.
