Balfour Beatty Vinci has an exciting opportunity for a Plant and Operator Inspector to join our team to work in Coleshill, Birmingham

Role Purpose:

To ensure Plant Operators working on the project are suitably qualified and experienced.

What you’ll be doing

  • Responsible for the thorough inspection of all types of plant equipment and machinery.
  • Producing detailed and accurate inspection reports for owned plant or hired plant coming on and going off site using both software-based systems and written copy.
  • Provide detailed operator assessments and have the character to reject operators that do not have the required qualifications or skill levels.
  • Close liaison with line manager, provide accurate information to section plant managers other plant team staff, project plant hire coordinators, plant administrators, plant suppliers.
  • Ensuring safety is the overriding priority and relentlessly promote the zero-harm culture.

  • Who we’re looking for

  • HS&E good knowledge of current legislation and application relating to plant and plant operations
  • Good all-round knowledge of plant operations and previous major project experience preferred.
  • CITB HS&E Operatives (minimum) test pass
  • MS office skills, email, word, excel
  • Plant related City & Guilds or CSCS / CPCS equivalent Level 2 minimum required.
  • Prepared to enrol / study for a CITB Test & Inspection of Plant Machinery qualification.
