The Role

Here at Crieff Vets, we are looking for a confident and forward-thinking Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our team. A typical day will consist of both theatre and consulting, but we can build a role that suits you. We are a team that works closely together to develop what we do and how we do it. We aim to self-lead within the nursing team on projects, so if there is something you are passionate about, you can develop it here. We employ a professional cleaning company, so the only time you need to mop is if someone has an accident! Similarly, we have a dedicated team of receptionists, so you won’t be spending afternoons stuck answering the phone. We hope that this gives you the scope to do what you do best and deliver outstanding care to our patients and clients.

The rota is flexible, we are happy to accommodate the way you want to work. This could be 4 x 10-hour days, 2 x 10 hour- days, and 3 x 7 hour- days or any other way that works for you. We would also be very pleased to welcome part-time applicants to job share. Ideally, we would want you to contribute to our out-of-hours rota, 1 night a week and 1 in 4 weekends of “peaceful” on-call.

The salary for this role is up to £25,000 depending on experience.

About Us

We are a small animal practice in a thriving community in the heart of rural Perthshire. We pride ourselves on offering a personal and friendly service to our community. We have multiparameter monitoring, a facility for keyhole surgery, digital radiography, “bear huggers” and walk-in kennel facilities. We also have a well-used kettle and a regular supply of homemade shortbread!

Crieff is an amazing place to live and work, we are right on the edge of the Scottish Highlands. You can be in the mountain wilds in half an hour or in Perth or Stirling at the same time. Edinburgh and Glasgow are just over an hour away if you need a city fix.

We currently have 5 Veterinary Surgeons, 2 Registered Veterinary Nurses, 3 Nursing Assistants, 4 Receptionists, and a Practice Manager. We aim to provide an excellent “GP” service, and we are very proud of our Vet, Rona, working on her certificate currently.
