Andale Veterinary Centre is a 1st Opinion practice based in Cheshire who are looking to support a New Graduate Small Animal Vet. They have 6 Vets (2 part time) and 8 Nurses (1 part time) 6 of which are RVN’s and 1 second year and 1 first year student. Within the team there are certificate holders in Medicine.

Normal hours will be 40 hours per week working between 9am – 7pm each day with the same half day a week off. Vets work 1 in 3 Saturday mornings until 12pm and in return have the following Friday afternoon off in lieu. There is no on call and limited bank holiday cover, normally works out at approximately 1 day a year with time given back in lieu. This allows for a great work life balance.

Andale Veterinary Centre is a friendly and supportive practice with a wonderful team and great facilities and equipment including digital x-ray, ultrasound, in house lab and endoscopes as well as having fantastic wellbeing initiatives and communication both inside and outside the practice such as monthly team meetings, one to one catch ups at least every two months, annual reviews and a friendly, confidential open door policy. The practice also have regular social events.

The New Graduate will be supported by the Clinical Director who will be their mentor. She has a lot of previous experience doing this and holds weekly/fortnightly catch ups with them to see what support is needed. Also spends a lot of time one to one teaching surgical procedures. All Vets and Nurses are happy to give support and guidance to new graduates. The practice hope that the graduate will become a confident and successful Vet who will progress through the practice and hopefully go on to complete a certificate whilst at the practice.
