The Role

An exciting opportunity has become available at Moorview Referrals for a Surgical RVN to join our friendly, supportive team.

As part of the surgery team, you will offer direct support to experienced referral clinicians, working in small teams to ensure all surgical patients receive the highest possible standards of care. You will have the opportunity to see a diverse referral caseload in orthopaedics and soft tissue surgeries, as well as some neurological cases. We are committed to supporting your special interests and empowering you to build your clinical skills within a nurturing environment, and with this in mind we would be open to accommodating a position solely within either soft tissue or orthopaedics, or a combination of the two.

Your responsibilities as a Surgical RVN will involve assisting with diagnostic imaging in CT and MRI, preparing/sterilising equipment and operating theatres, preparing patients for surgery, assisting throughout surgical procedures and recovering patients post-op.

In addition, you may occasionally rotate through other areas of the hospital such as wards or ECC to assist the rest of the nursing team.

This is a full-time position working 40 hours over 5 days, and 1:6 weekends with TOIL. There are no compulsory night shifts or on-call, but our nurses can pick up optional night shifts to cover annual leave if they wish which will be reflected in your annual salary, or further optional weekend shifts which are paid as overtime.

The starting salary for this role is £24,900-£27,400 depending on experience, to be reviewed on completion of 3 month probation and again at yearly appraisal.
