Main duties of the job

The post holder will possess excellent time management skills, be well organised and have the ability to prioritise workload demands to meet strict deadlines, whilst producing work to the highest standards.

The post holder will also have the ability to work both independently and as part of a team, using discretion, judgment and initiative. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential together with a keen eye for detail, with the ability to process and generate urgent and routine correspondence.

Candidates must be able to maintain patient confidentiality and ensure a high standard of customer care at all times.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Qualifications

Essential criteria

  • GCSE/O Level English and Mathematics or equivalent NVQ III or equivalent knowledge and experience OCR/RSA Text, Audio or Word processing (Level II or equivalent)
  • Desirable criteria

  • AMSPAR diploma European Computer Driving Licence (ECDL)
  • Knowledge

    Essential criteria

  • Previous secretarial experience udio typing experience Knowledge of medical/ anatomy terminology Experience in dealing with members of the public/external clients
  • Desirable criteria

  • Experience in a health care environment Experience of clinical governance, audit, quality and risk management
  • Aptitude & Abilities

    Essential criteria

  • Advanced Keyboard skills – able to accurately touch-type 70 wpm or moreGood word processing, database and spreadsheet skills e.g. Word/Excel. Ability to create presentations e.g. Power point Proven organisational skills including prioritisation Ability to use a wide range of office equipment
  • Desirable criteria

  • Welsh speaker Experience of electronic information systems e.g. Oracle, PAS
