Hourly Rate: £16.67 – £18.18
Salary: £30,424.18 – £33,179.92 per annum
Contract Duration: Temporary until 31 March 2023

Role Purpose

The Parent Employability Worker will enable Scottish Borders Council to support parents (and kinship carers) to participate and progress in employment, thereby increasing the income available to them and their families. They will take a key worker approach and work with partners to identify parents/carers who would benefit and support them into sustained work. A significant part of the role will be to support parents/carers already in work to progress and increase their income. Taking a person-centred approach, they will support parents/carers to action plan, address barriers, access relevant services and participate fully in employment.

Essential

HNC (or above) in community education, employability or other relevant field of work

A current driving licence and use of a vehicle is an essential requirement of this post. * If you have a disability which precludes you from holding a drivers licence, Scottish Borders Council will take into account its responsibility to make reasonable adjustments to allow for your disability. Should it be possible to make such an adjustment in order that you can undertake the travel responsibilities of the post, this will be taken into account in consideration for this role.
