Main duties of the job

The post holder will be responsible for the effective administration of the immunisation process within the Welsh Immunisation System (WIS); recording vaccines, adding case notes, checking eligibility and coding. Maintaining all stock within the vaccination centres and being responsible for document version control and confidential waste. Answering individual enquiries promptly and professionally being able to identify immediate solutions, and providing a coordination role where appropriate. The post holder will take a the lead assisting the clinical staff with the coordination of patients at the vaccination sites, liaising with General Practitioners, wards and community staff. Organisational ability, high-level communication skills and the ability to cope with working to tight and multiple deadlines are all skills essential to this post. The post contains a range of duties normally undertaken within procedural guidelines and work is frequently undertaken at the post holders own initiative. This role involves frequently dealing with confidential and sensitive information. 

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Essential criteria

  • Good level of education Able to demonstrate English language and Mathematics to GCSE or equivalent level
  • OCR/RSA Word Processing level 1
  • NVQ II Admin/Customer care
