An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Dual Diagnosis Practitioner to join Wrexham CAMHS and work collaboratively with our partners in In2Change.

In2Change is a multi-disciplinary team made up of specialists with backgrounds in education, therapy, health, youth work, and social care. We work closely with Health, Education, Childrens Service and the Youth Justice Service.

In2Change work with young people to minimise the impact of drug, alcohol and substance related harm on young people, their families and the community, to enable them to lead healthy and crime free lives. We work holistically with young people through a whole life approach.

Experience of working with children and young people who present with complex issues in a CAMHS setting is essential. You will be Mental Health Measure compliant and competent to complete mental health assessments. Experience of a range of therapeutic interventions as well as a basic knowledge of substance use is desirable. You will have excellent communication and engagement skills and the ability to work in partnership with other services/agencies.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Qualifications

Essential criteria

  • Core professional qualification relevant to mental health e.g. Nursing with specialism in mental health or learning disabilities; Social Work, Occupational Therapy, Practitioner Psychologist or Counselling, Arts and Play Therapist, CBT Therapist
  • Experience

    Essential criteria

  • Some clinical experience during training or post qualification
  • Clinical experience with children / adults with mental health problems / disorders or behavioural problems
  • Desirable criteria

  • Work with children / young people and their families
  • Work in community settings
  • Experience of implementing therapeutic interventions

  • Understanding of mental health problems / disorders
  • Able to produce care plans incorporating evidence based interventions
  • To work in the UK, all candidates who are not UK or Republic of Ireland (RoI) nationals require sponsorship to obtain either a Health and Care visa or Skilled Worker visa , unless you have permission to work via another route.
