Job purpose:

The role of the assistant management accountant will be to ensure the underlying financial records are accurate and reported to senior management and group within agreed timescales. They will also be responsible for the timely production of period end reporting and supporting the sales ledger with the creation of invoices & accrued revenue calculations.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Assist in preparation of monthly management accounts for the companies within the Group.
  • Preparation of Month end journals including accruals, prepayments & fixed asset depreciation.
  • Perform monthly Balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Upload key data and complete all forms to be filled in for month end reporting to the Group plc.
  • Assist with completion of interim and year end results for the Scantech Group to PLC.
  • Assist in preparation of budgets, forecasts and cash flow forecasts.
  • Help in overseeing the management of the sales ledger including the raising of invoices and updating applicable trackers.
  • Produce and consolidate the monthly sales Flash and accrued revenue for review by Financial Controller and Financial Director.
  • Calculation of sales revenue rebates on a monthly basis.
  • Completion of quarterly VAT/GST returns for UK, UAE and Australia.
  • Adhoc project work as requested by ERP Accountant and Finance Business Partner.
  • Experience & skills required:

  • Can be QBE, but AAT qualified or working towards CIMA/ACCA/ACA preferred. 
  • Experience of Excel to at least intermediate level (VLookups, SUMIFS, pivot tables).
  • Sage 200 knowledge would be ideal but not essential.
