Assistant Service Manager

Job description

We are seeking to recruit a full time Assistant Service Manager to join the Sheffield City Council MAST Service.

It is an exciting time within the Early Help Services within Sheffield, and we seek a manager who is passionate to deliver a high standard of services for the families of Sheffield, intervening at the earliest opportunity.

The role requires an individual with experience in developing transformational change in practice with partners to support our response to the national Reducing Parental Conflict programme. The role will also support the management and development of our Parenting Hub and Strengthening Families Domestic Abuse Team.

Key Skills for the role include:

  • Building relationships and communicating with a diverse range of people and organizations (incl elected members and universal service providers)
  • People management experience, including experience of performance management, appraisals, capability proceedings, sickness absence, handling disciplinary and grievances and training.
  • Budget monitoring experience
  • Commitment to embedding evidence-based policy and practice
  • Ability to search for and implement new and innovative solutions to complex problems
  • Commitment to working in partnership with colleagues, other agencies and with users, carers and the voluntary sector
  • Candidates will be qualified to degree level and have management experience within a relevant education, health or social care field.
